Unsettling horror movie with a unique touch and likeable characters. Will keep you on the edge of your seat near the end. This b-horror could be in the featured movies and you would not question it's right to be there. Refreshing gem for horror fans as there arent many good movies in that genre these days. 4/5

That was really good. About 35 minutes in I was going to turn it off because it started down a super cliche path that normally leads to a really bad ending, but I'm glad I kept watching because that was not how it went down. There is an extraneous subplot that should have been developed more or removed entirely, but it is a minor issue in what was an otherwise well done movie.

I was trolling for a good horror and hit the jackpot. From the musical score to the tension throughout, this movie hit the mark. The acting was great, which made it that much more enjoyable. You need to watch this movie!!

Man oh Man, what a movie! Edge of your seat insanity. Man i was so tense the majority of the movie. I was even screaming at the screen. What a great, scary, creepy, disturbing movie! LOVE IT

Do not pass this up! Do not pass Go! Do not collect $200! You will thank me later. The IFC Midnight series has been one of the perpetual highlights of horror cinema. Sure, there have been duds. Notable failures. And many a "blah" entry. But by and large, IFC has done a commendable job of finding the gems among the gaudy plastic jewelry of genre cinema. And when IFC hits a homer -- it's a grand slam. This is one of those films. An intimate, frightening, claustrophobic study of genius and madness that may -- or may not -- have an actual supernatural element to it. That's for you to decide. Yet, it still manages to be disturbing. The acting all around is stellar. Even young star Kiara Glasco is exemplary. That said, the standouts here are long-time character actor Pruitt Taylor Vince, who may well be one of the most frightening serial killers on cinema in a long time. That's because Vince makes his Ray Smile character not only frightening, but sympathetic and deeply flawed. It's a beauty to see him eat up the screen in a hauntingly similar way he did (albeit for a short time) in the film Identity. The other surprise is Ethan Embry. Here's an actor who has struggled to shake off his starring emergence in the 90s teen comedy Can't Hardly Wait and even That Thing You Do! Sure, he's been steadily working since then, but carrying his own film has not been his forte. Here, he demonstrates he's highly underrated, and deserving of more lead roles (for those of you fans of Joe Hill, he could even make a standout actor for the role of Judas Coyne, the main character in Joe Hill's stellar horror novel Heart-Shaped Box, which has been options for a film). While there are real disturbing scenes -- some involving children -- they're largely left to your imagination, which I am thankful for. Still, Devil's Candy has become one of the strongest genre entries so far this year.

Pretty awesome horror movie. it had a different approach and kinda unique storyline with very good performances. Most importantly it was tense, interesting and had a brilliant use of music and silence on the scenes those are needed.

It wasn't scary; it wasn't good; it was like the little wannabe santanic movie “that could.” it was more metal than I ever want to hear in a movie, but I do give it up for the actors, they did good for what they were working with.

This was a nice Horror flick, lots of metal (if anyone can help me find out, what non metal song is playing in the background at around 12 minutes, I would be so happy) not too gory, not really scary, but some really great uncomfortable scenes. The ending was kind of metalalbumcover-worthy, cheesy but still epic?, made me laugh somehow. A good one time watch if you have nothing else to watch. 3,5/5 stars.

It's very rare for a horror movie to stand out or stand on its own, but this is one of the few that does both. This is truly a very original flick, and is one of the better ones IMO. Doesn't follow any of the usual tropes or corny overused plot lines, is just a one of a kind flick... that and it kinda gets me a little in that it features both A) an artist, and B) a kick ass metal soundtrack. Can't go wrong there :D 5/5

IFC Midnight scores again. It's creepy, well acted, interesting plot, excellent baddie and a lot of small touches that round out the feeling of dread. There's no huge body count but there definitely is one. If you like horror give this a try because it's so much better than the usual B horror or ton of lame found footage failures.

Compared to most of the horror I have recently seen this film was great. Not only was the soundtrack cool I loved the artwork. Surely rewatch material.
